I got an error when trying to authorize, from Flickr:

“Oops! Flickr doesn’t recognise the permission set.”

Flishr Support:Thank you for your report. The problem resolved. Please download the current version and reinstall Flishr.

    Hi

I downloaded Flishr V.2.02 and installed (following exactly the installer instructions to my hard-drive). I configured my firewall to allow Flishr to interact with the Internet. I then followed the Flishr instructions to authorize Flishr’s use on Flickr. But on connecting to Flickr received the message that:

there was an api error that would not allow Flishr to be authorized and that this was not (according to Flickr) a Flickr site error.

I get this message when I try to authenticate:

Oops! Flickr doesn’t recognize the permission set.

An external application has requested your login credentials and permission to perform certain actions on your behalf, but has failed to include all the required data.

You don’t really need to know what this means, except that you can’t use the application until this problem is fixed. (It’s a third-party problem, not a Flickr problem.)

There are lots of applications using the Flickr API. If you are curious about this, visit the Flickr Services page to see more examples of cool stuff. Otherwise, you might like to head to your home page…

Hi, I just installed Flishr to try the software because I read good comments about it on the net. But I got this error in Flickr site after signed in: Oops! Flickr doesn’t recognise the permission set.

Thanks in advance for your help

I’ve just Installed Beta 3.0. Flickr allows the authorisation but Flishr doesn’t recognise it’s authorised.

    Beta 2.0.1 was working fine.

Flishr Support: After authorizing Flishr in Flickr site, please come back to Flishr and under File menu -> Authorize : click “Continue” to let Flishr know that you have authorized it.

when you select an album to download, it says download complete but no photos where downloaded.

Flishr Support: That means that album did not have download-able photo(s); in other words, the photographer set the “All Right Reserved” attribute.

It seems that all the managing tools doesn’t work yet. I cannot create a set or put a primary picture. The docs speak of a edit selected button, but it doesn’t show up anywhere. And I cannot seem to change anything on sets and collections. For sets, it download the info on my sets on my flickr, but for collection it doesn’t seem to do that. It seems that it wants to manage my collections locally.

Suggestion: It would be nice if we can download all photos, b/c we can still get them through the browser. Maybe you can put them in a special folder or add something to the name that says they are not for redistribution.

Adding a right click function that shows some specs and owner info for the photo would be great.

It would also be great if you can let us copy the user ID when we found them. Some of those user IDs are long and has a lot of numbers, it is just much easier to be able to copy them and past them in my search box.

That is it. So far so good.

Flishr Team: Thank you for your attention and suggestions, we’ll work on these issues.

I tried posting a comment here yesterday, but it didn’t seem to get posted. I just want to let you know that the management functions doesn’t seem to work yet. At least not according to the documentation. The edit selected button does not even exist, when you try to create a set.

Moreover the find user function should be integrated into the search photo function.

I hope you can address these issues in the next release.

Flishr Team: Thank you for your concern and suggestion. We’ll work on them.

I am trying to download photos from a group’s pool, but most of them show up with red italicized filenames, while the few in standard black font are the only ones that successfully download. What does the red text mean, and is there a way to work around this?

Flishr Support: When you search in Flishr, you may notice that some of the photos’ title have Red Text while some are Black. Red Text means that All Rights Reserved for this photo or the photos is set to be Non-Downloaded in Flickr. This way you can find out which photos are not allowed for copy and download.

I did a group search for a group I’m a member of and got this error.

Error: Sorry, this group is set to private or only invited members can browse it.

Thought it might be that I hadn’t authorized yet but, I did. I’m using Mozilla and the newest version of Flishr V3.0. I also checked my setting in my yahoo flickr account and it is set to allow read and write. Is there something I’m missing or is it the program?

btw, I’ve used other programs that download from flickr and have gotten similar errors.

Flishr Support: Since the group is private, so if you are not a member of that group, you won’t have access to that group. Even if you authorize. Try to become member through Flickr.com..Some groups need invitation.

Installed 3.0 beta. I can search for a user’s photos successfully, but when I enter the same user’s name a second time, I get a “User unknown(2)” error message.

Also: pictures are marked “Unable to download” even when I can download them directly from Flickr without any trouble.

Flishr Support: Could you please provide us more details about what you do in sequence. Flickr may let you to download Non-CC licensed photos but at the same time, Flickr does not allow third party applications to use its API to download Non-CCs..This is weired but it is there. This is all related to ToS for APIs and you can read more in Flickr website.

Here a re-explanation of what I was trying to say before:

I did a search to find a group that I already knew I was a member of through invitation. I had already previously received an email saying I was accepted. I went through the 3 step process of authorization in the Flishr program and on flickr.com and I am still getting the following error:

Error: Sorry, this group is set to private or only invited members can browse it.

Could it be because it is a group for members 18+? And, I am over 18 and my setting are set to allow it. What I’m saying is this something you may have missed in the development of Flishr or could it be something totally different?

I can’t seem to get my photos from flickr to my computer hard drive. I do the whole download thing, and I get the message: all photos were downloaded successfully, but my pics don’t appear in the folder I created (or anywhere on my computer). Above, you wrote that perhaps the photos are “all rights reserved”. I have changed all my settings, and I still can’t get my photos. Whats’ up???

We did our best to solve this issue in latest release…so drop us email at info @ flishr.com in case you had problems
    Thanks

Regarding my message above: I figured out the problem. Even if you go and change your settings, the changes won’t affect the pictures that already exist. I had to actually go and edit each batch to change the privacy settings. Once I did that, the pics downloaded to my computer. Finally!
